Your 2020 NFL Draft Cheat Sheet

It’s finally here! We know that it has been rough to get through COVID-19 quarantine without any live sports, but hopefully the 2020 NFL Draft will hold you over until they’re back. We know watching Roger Goodell announce the picks from home isn’t ideal, but just know that if you’re booing him on your screens, chances are plenty of others are too 😏

NFL Week 12 Round Up – Not Half Bad

Well, this week didn’t go as well for the fans as last week, but then again, nobody would have expected for the Washington Redskins to pull out a win over the Detroit Lions. So, we really can’t fault you on that one. This week, the fans ended up going 8-5-1, bringing their season record to 105-58-13.   • Players tend to get a little flashy when they arrive at the stadium prior to the game, but the Houston Texans LBs just raised the bar this week by rolling up in Mortal Kombat outfits, and it was everything we didn’t know we needed in our lives.
  • Will the NFL Officials ever stop making terrible calls and/or stop missing blatant calls? We get the feeling they’re the ones that post “New Year, New Me” every January and not change a single thing, as made evident by this bogus tripping call on the Cowboys.
  • There’s been A LOT of hype around Lamar Jackson (especially from Mark Ingram), but let’s not forget about Marcus Peters, who really didn’t want the Rams to have anything to celebrate in last night’s game.
  • Technically this didn’t happen during the Packers-49ers game, but when we first saw the below clip we were pretty impressed…

Leave it to the fans to accurately predict the San Francisco 49ers winning streak coming to an end in a weekend FULL of upsets! But we’ll dive more into that exciting game tomorrow in our FAN Take 😉. Now that all the undefeated teams have lost and the Miami Dolphins have won, we’re just waiting on the Cincinnati Bengals to FINALLY bring home a win. NFL Week Eight Round Up – Fans Are Riding High

We’re officially at the halfway mark of the NFL Regular Season and if the fans’ ability to accurately pick games is any indicator of how they will do in the inaugural season of the Fan Controlled Football League, we’ve got nothing to worry about! Once again, the New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers came out on top, and the Cincinnati Bengals and Miami Dolphins are keeping their losing streak alive. Naturally, the fans called all four teams’ games correctly. Due to a split decision on the Oakland Raiders-Houston Texans game this week, the fans ended up going 12-2-1, bringing their season record to 74-39-8. Now for a breakdown of each pick – bold indicates the winner of the game, italics indicate who the fans selected.

  • Nick Bosa continues to strain his back by carrying the 49ers. We hope for the fans sake that he stays healthy for the remainder of the season.
  • The Jaguars achieved Troll Level 1000 when responding to Jets QB Sam Darnold’s statement on ‘seeing ghosts’ in their loss to the Patriots the week before. It should also be noted that prior to the game, a plane flew over the stadium with a banner that read ‘Gardner Minshew ain’t afraid of no ghosts.’

  • This Tennessee Titans cheerleader is outperforming the entire receiving core from the Atlanta Falcons, Miami Dolphins, Cincinnati Bengals, and Cleveland Browns combined.
  • Aaron Rodgers reminded everyone why he’s a Super Bowl MVP with this pass. Don’t lie, you all held your breath during this play too.
  • Saquon Barkley went full BEASTMODE on the field, tossing these guys out of his way. Marshawn, we think it’s time you sign some new athletes to your brand.


  • Move over, *NSYNC. The Seahawks not only defeated the Browns, but they proved they’re better dancers than all of you.
  • Russell Wilson led his team to a TD without the aid of his helmet communication system. It’s *almost* like he’s earning his paycheck out there!
  • The Detroit Lions showed up at Lambeau to remind you why their season isn’t dead with a perfectly executed Flea Flicker for their first play of the game!
  • There were a LOT of things going wrong in the Lions-Packers game last night, but the only thing worse than the officiating had to be Rodgers’ receiving core.

Let the Mid-Season Firings Begin!

As just about every football fan knows, Jay Gruden was fired by the Washington Redskins last week. In his five years with the team, they went 35-50-1, so you could say his record was less than ideal. It seemed pretty clear he knew he would be relieved of duties any day after going 0-5, but we don’t think anyone expected him to be called to training facilities at 5am Monday morning to be let go. At least let the guy sleep in a bit before handing him his pink slip.

So who’s next on the chopping block? Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn’s name is the first one that comes to mind. Following their embarrassing loss to the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LI (who blows a 28-3 lead?!), the team almost made it to another NFC Championship in 2017, but ultimately lost to the Philadelphia Eagles. As for last season? Talk about a mess. They went 7-9 and no matter what they did, they just couldn’t get it together. But this year, Quinn took over defensive play-calling duties and reworked the offensive line with some fresh blood, so they should have a good season this year. Except, they aren’t. They’re currently ranked 30th on third down conversions and 31st in points per game. Thinks aren’t looking good, Quinn. He’s not the only one on the chopping block, though. Brian Flores (Miami Dolphins) and Zac Taylor (Cincinnati Bengals) may be in the first season as head coach for their respective teams, but they are also leading their teams to winless seasons, just like Jay Gruden. And there’s the Cleveland Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens, who have talent this year and are actually 2nd in the AFC North, and have had 7 coaches in the last 10 years. Maybe they just REALLY like hunting for new coaching candidates?

Firing coaches is never a fun thing for teams to do. Sure, as fans, you typically get to find a little too much enjoyment out of seeing someone get kicked to the curb, but that’s going to be different in the Fan Controlled Football League. In the FCFL, when your team fires a coach, it’s up to YOU to find a new one. You’re the ones running the team, remember? It’s because of that, that we think the fans will be a little more hesitant to get rid of their offensive and/or defensive coordinators. We’re sure one team in the league will get a little trigger happy with all that power and make a major decision like that, but for the most part, we think the fans will ride the season out and focus on finding a new coach prior to the start of season two.

NFL Week Five Round Up – And Then There Were Two

Going in to NFL Week 5, there were three teams that remained undefeated, but then the Indianapolis Colts showed up to do WORK. The Kansas City Chiefs tried to bring home the win, but clearly they could have tried harder. Now, only the San Francisco 49ers and New England Patriots remain undefeated. One of these comes as a huge shock to us, the other doesn’t, considering they have the easiest schedule in the league. Just like last week, fans went 8-6-1 with their picks, bringing their season record to 46-28-4.   • Oh, Baker. The Browns QB snubbed the San Francisco 49ers Team Captains during the pre-game coin toss, so Joey Bosa decided to get a little payback by ‘planting the flag’ in Santa Clara.
  • Sadly, Mason Rudolph sustained a concussion during the Steelers-Ravens game on Sunday. To make matters worse, the cart taking him off the field broke down and he ultimately had to be carried away. We get the feeling EVERY cart at EVERY stadium will be fully charged before Week 6 action kicks off.

  • Travis Kelce is all of us, getting fired up at coaches when you’re losing a game you SHOULD be winning.
  • And last, but certainly not least, the camera crew caught Jerry “Crypt Keeper” Jones channeling every Cowboys fan by getting frustrated with Dak Prescott.

  • Texans QB Deshaun Watson may have just secured his first job when the time comes to retire after breaking down the Panthers defense like a pro. If only his team’s coaching staff could see what he did, they may have pulled out a win.
  • Dak Prescott literally creating meme gold when throwing into quadruple coverage in a last-ditch attempt to defeat the New Orleans Saints. This might have been the most exciting moment of the week’s most boring game.
  • This fan that just RIPPED into the Atlanta Falcons at half time, living out every disgruntled fan’s dream.
  • This unbelievable pass from Matt Stafford. We’re still not sure how he made this sorcery happen, but we don’t see him pulling it off again any time soon.

  • Football, on occasion, helps people show their worst sides. It’s just one of those facts of life that even the Dean of Admissions and Penn can’t deny. Shout out to the camera crew who caught Eric J. Furda getting a little expressive during the Eagles-Lions game.
  • That moment when Patrick Mahomes remembered he’s still under his rookie contract and probably shouldn’t risk an injury.
  • The Washington Redskins know all about finding creative solutions to problems – just not on the field. That area is still a total mess for them.
  • Khalil Mack continues to show us why 1) he is worth every penny, 2) we should be afraid of going against him in a fight and 3) to have a good medical team on standby after playing the Bears.
  • Yesterday we shared our favorite instance of shade being thrown at a football player when a Philadelphia local not only saved children from a burning building, but called out Nelson Agholor’s poor performance in his news interview. Algholor, who is currently 18 of 28 this season on receptions, has since invited the local hero to a game.
