FAN Take is a series that highlights trending events, issues, and decisions in the world of sports and analyzes how they may or may not factor into the Fan Controlled Football League. We would love to hear your feedback, so let us know what you think about each FAN Take!
To quote The Root’s Michael Harriot, “Marshawn Lynch is a goddamn national treasure.” We’re definitely a little biased, but we completely agree. As we highlighted in our NFL Divisional Weekend Recap, Beastmode himself dropped some knowledge for all the young athletes out there, following the Seahawks being eliminated from playoffs: “Take care of y’all bread, so when y’all done, you can go ahead and take care of yourself.” But here’s the thing – that wasn’t all he had to say. His full, 90-second statement is something we think everyone needs to listen to:
We’ve talked before about the importance of mental health after Rob Gronkowski’s early retirement, but that conversation is being expanded upon thanks to our Team Owner | Fan Captain, Marshawn, who is bringing the idea of self-care to everyone’s attention. We just hope all the athletes out there – not just those who are interested in playing in the FCFL – are listening. But Marshawn’s latest interview has us wondering, if you could give any piece of advice to your players, what would it be? What kind of advice would you want them to be given by any of our Team Owners | Fan Captains, or even Co-Founder Ray Austin? More importantly, what kind of advice would you want them to give you? Given their diverse backgrounds, we’re sure that they’ve had some insane life experiences and have some sage wisdom to share!
